How It Works

Application

Apply as a Team (3-5 pax) by filling up the form. All participants, both professionals or students will compete on the same track. Confirmation will be sent on a weekly basis so apply now!

Pre-Hack Briefing

Only shortlisted teams will be invited to join the event. There will be a virtual Pre-Hack Briefing on 14 June for all confirmed teams to prepare for the main event.


14 June

48-Hour Virtual Hackathon

The Virtual Hackathon will begin on Friday, 16 June at 10.00am with the full details to kickoff team projects, ending with the selection of Top 10 Finalists on Sunday, 18 June.


16 - 18 June

Physical Grand Finals

The Top 10 teams will present their enhanced and polished-up projects to our panel of Grand Judges on-stage at a venue in Kuala Lumpur. This is a physical event.

Sales & Performance

How may we help SMEs develop and implement effective sales & performance processes and monitoring that are able to attract, retain and grow talents?

Challenge 2:
Inventory Management

How may we help SMEs overcome their challenges in inventory management; avoid stockouts, overstocking, inefficient storage, etc in order to optimise operational costs?

Challenge 3:
Human Resource

How may we help SMEs manage HR more effectively by streamlining commissions, overtime payout, salary & wages, expenses, reimbursement, taxation, hiring, etc?

Challenge 4:
Revenue & Cashflow

How may we help SMEs especially the retailers overcome payment and collection related issues; delayed payments, cash flow management, reconciliation, collection, etc?

You need to fill up the official application form with your full team details and introduction. Shortlisted teams will be invited to join.

 

Yes, you can have a minimum of 3 or maximum of 5 members in a team, including at least 1 coder.

 

You can, as long as you have at least 1 coder in your team so that you can build and submit a working prototype.

 

Yes, as long as you have a valid Malaysian PR or Work/Student VISA, and you're currently based in the country.

 

No, Standard Chartered employees and affiliates are not eligible to participate in this Hackathon.

 

The 48-Hour hackathon will be conducted virtually. The Top 10 finalists are required to be in Kuala Lumpur for the in-person Grand Finals.

 

You’re required to build an innovative solution to help accelerate digital transformation for Malaysian SMEs by solving one (or more) of the 4 Challenges above.

 

None! This programme is free for all eligible participants. The organisers will take care of everything to ensure you have a great hackathon experience.

 

The Virtual Hackathon begins on Friday, 16 June at 10.00am and ends on Sunday, 18 June 2023 at 5.00pm. The Grand Finals for the 10 teams will be on 24 June 2023.

 

We want highly innovative and practical solutions, originality and good design. We will also evaluate the technical ability of the team members to execute the projects.

 

The teams will be required to submit their projects via cloud storage and do a live demonstration to our Round 1 Judges through our virtual event platform. The top 10 finalists will present on-stage at the Grand Finals.
